Pellets are used in livestock feed instead of hay due to several advantages:

  • Convenient storage and transportation. The pellets are packed in bags of 25 kg or in big bags, so they take up much less storage space
  • High degree of digestibility
  • Low sugar content
  • High protein content
  • Pellets retain 95% of the nutrients found in hay

Heat treatment destroys harmful microorganisms, mold, bacteria and
salmonella.

Composition of vitamins and minerals:

  • – ensures proper metabolism
  • – prevents diseases of the nervous system
  • – regulates carbohydrate metabolism
  • – promotes good growth
  • – affects the reproductive capacity of livestock

Vitamins and minerals:

  1. Provitamin A (carotene)
  2. Vitamin B1
  3. Vitamin B2
  4. Vitamin D
  5. Vitamin C
  6. Vitamin K.
  7. Vitamin E

Alfalfa pellets are used as a stand-alone feed or in combination with other feeds

Advantages of granulated alfalfa in feeding livestock:

  • protein content is 2 times higher than in other feed
  • 3 times more minerals than in grain feed
  • several times more vitamins than in other natural feed

The content of nutrients and their digestibility in alfalfa can be compared with concentrated feed. Alfalfa has a high nutritional value and in comparison with oats wins due to a more balanced content of calcium and natural vitamins.
